About Me

My name is Jace Bolante. I grew up, and still live, in Salem, Oregon. After finishing my Bachelor of Science in Computer Science there in 2025 with an applied option in Data Science, I graduated from Oregon State University in June 2026 with a Master of Engineering in Computer Science and a minor in Artificial Intelligence.

I recently completed a software engineering internship with Vimly Benefits Solutions, where my biggest contribution was fully implementing an AWS DataSync agent as Infrastructure as Code to securely move PHI-bearing files into S3 as part of the team's cloud migration. I've also done contract work with DataAnnotation, evaluating and ranking LLM-generated code and responses for correctness and instruction-following. My graduate research is centered on LLM safety and evaluation, including a project fuzzing prompts to measure how model behavior holds up against the safety claims in their own model cards, which is currently in preparation for conference submission. Alongside a couple of projects reimplementing published jailbreak-detection and bug-prediction research, you can read more about some of these over in my portfolio.

During my free time, I love anything motorsports related, and you'll often find me watching Formula One, NASCAR, or some other form of motorsports. (I even built a project modeling every point system either series had used.) I also like watching and playing other sports and playing video games. Overall, I love analyzing things and solving problems, and I'm always excited to learn something new.
